Eileen Kernaghan

Eileen Kernaghan has been involved with the arts in Burnaby since the mid-sixties, and for over a decade has taught Writer’s Workshop: Manuscripts at The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Her seventh fantasy novel, The Alchemist’s Daughter, was a finalist for the 2005 Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature prize. She also won the 2001 Aurora Award for the best Canadian speculative novel in English with her fantasy story The Snow Queen. Eileen’s newest novel Wild Talent: A Novel of the Supernatural will be released in 2008 and a new edition of The Sarsen Witch was released in August 2007. Shauna Paull 
 
Shauna Paull is a poet, educator and community advocate. She completed an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia in 1999. Since then, she has led creative writing workshops at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Deer Lake Park, Burnaby, and at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Her collection of poems, roughened in undercurrent, was published by Leaf Press in April 2008. She is currently at work on a book of essays and a set of new poems entitled blood swallow.
