Comics 101
This class explores story creation through pictures, as you develop ideas to produce your own comic/graphic novel. Students are introduced to basic drawing techniques, dialogue and design through directed excercises and discussions of current works. Instructor: Robin Thompson

Poetry Studio
Designed primarily for participants with some poetry experience who want to expand their understanding of poetic forms and deepen their skills. The course will provide a supportive forum for emerging poets and will include writing exercises as well as discussions of essays on the writing life. Two of the sessions will feature visits from established local writers who will read with us and offer comments about their creative process. Students share their work, receive and provide feedback to the group and participate in the annual Shadbolt Poetry Bash. Note: This session is limited to eight poets. Instructor: Shauna Paull
Spring Break: Creative Writing Intensive
Immerse yourself in this writing workshop designed especially for emerging writers. Fiction, non-fiction and poetry are covered as well as discussions on writing process, writing exercises and readings from current writers in a variety of genres. Writer's Workshop: Manuscripts
Do you have a partially or fully completed a fiction or creative non-fiction manuscript? Share your work and receive constructive criticism within a supportive environment. All genres are welcome, including contemporary fiction, science fiction, fantasy, romance, memoirs, poetry and plays. Publishing and marketing are also discussed. Instructor: Eileen Kernaghan
Writing for Children and Youth
The classes explore forms of expression ranging from picture books to poetry and novels to non-fiction. Discussion topics include style, voice, genre, process and getting published. Instructor: Rachelle Delaney

This studio class is an opportunity for up and coming storytellers of all genres to meet and share their work in a creative and supportive environment. Receive constructive criticism and form collaborative relationships as you develop your own literary voice.
